The challenge: making a complex journey feel manageable

Choosing the right educational path isn't always straightforward.

Turnier Educational Consulting works with students and families with different educational needs, helping to navigate important decisions about boarding school, post-secondary education and individual learning needs. Every student brings a different combination of strengths, challenges, ambitions and circumstances, and there is rarely a one size fits all answer.

The challenge was to create a brand and website that reflected Turnier's depth of expertise and highly individualised approach, while making its services feel accessible to families who might be uncertain about where to begin.

The new identity needed to communicate professionalism and experience, but also warmth, reassurance and possibility. It was important that people coming to the site could see that they were somewhere they could be helped, and that professionals coming to the site could be confident they were also in the right place. As you can see, we tried several things out as we went though the process.

The approach: direction without a prescribed route

The idea of finding a path became the foundation for the brand. Rather than suggest that every student should follow the same route, we wanted to communicate that there are different ways forward, and that the right guidance can help families discover the one that makes sense for them.

I developed a visual identity incorporating a compass-inspired symbol, reflecting direction, discovery and opportunity. I combined this with a considered colour palette, elegant typography and landscape imagery to help establish a distinctive visual language: professional and confident, without feeling institutional or impersonal.

The result was a brand designed to feel both knowledgeable and approachable.

Making the message about the family

An important part of the project was rethinking how Turnier communicated its services. Rather than leading with the consultancy's credentials or processes, I developed website messaging that begins with the questions and uncertainties families may be experiencing. This client-focused approach helps visitors recognise their own situation before introducing the expertise and support available.

I also worked to bring clarity to Turnier's three principal service areas:

Boarding School Placement — helping families identify and navigate appropriate school options.

Post-Secondary Planning — supporting students as they consider their next steps beyond school.

School Advisory — providing specialist educational insight and guidance.

Each area needed its own clear explanation while remaining part of one cohesive offering.

Turning a personalised process into a clear journey

Turnier's work is highly individual, but prospective clients still need to understand what working together might look like.

To make the process more tangible, I helped articulate a six-stage approach:

Understand → Discover → Explore → Plan → Support → Goal

This gave the website a simple, reassuring framework for explaining a service that is necessarily tailored to each student. The intention wasn't to suggest a rigid formula, instead it was to help families see that there is a thoughtful, collaborative process behind the personalised guidance.

Bringing the brand to life online

With the positioning, identity and messaging established, I designed and built a Squarespace website that brought everything together. The site uses open, considered layouts, landscape imagery and clear navigation to create a sense of space and direction.

The homepage introduces Turnier through the perspective of the families it serves, while dedicated service pages provide more detailed information for those ready to explore their options. Testimonials give families an opportunity to hear from others who have worked with the consultancy, reinforcing the personal nature of the service.

Throughout the website, the aim was to balance detailed information with an experience that feels calm, welcoming and easy to navigate.

The outcome: a more confident digital presence

Turnier Educational Consulting now has a cohesive brand and website designed to reflect the quality and individuality of its services. The visual identity gives the consultancy a recognisable presence, while the revised messaging makes its offering easier to understand.

By bringing the services, approach, and client experiences together within a clear digital structure, the website provides a stronger foundation for conversations with prospective families. It also gives Turnier a consistent brand platform for future communications and business development.

The bigger picture

The most important part of this project wasn't simply making the website look more polished. It was understanding how families might feel when they arrive, what questions they need answered, and how the brand could help them feel confident about taking the next step. Because good branding doesn't just communicate what a business does. It helps the right people understand why it matters to them.
